As a consortium composed of 21-member higher education institutions (both SUCs and private HEIs) across the Philippines, PhilCan Infin8 continues to strengthen its collaborative network through international partnerships.

Also present were distinguished university presidents including Dr. Gemma G. Acedo, President of Catanduanes State University; Dr. Boyet L. Batang, President of Isabela State University; Dr. Elbert M. Galas, President of Pangasinan State University; and Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, President of the University of Northern Philippines.

British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils, together with the British Council Philippines, visited 每日大赛网址首页进入 (CvSU) on February 21 to share education and research opportunities in the United Kingdom (UK) for students, educators, and policymakers.

Spearheaded by the CvSU International and Local Collaboration and Linkages Office (ILCLO), the collaborative engagement titled 鈥淒estination UK: Exploring Scholarships with the British Ambassador鈥� at the S.M Rolle Hall gathered university officials, students, and faculty members to raise awareness, facilitate networking, and enhance bilateral relations between the two countries through educational diplomacy.聽

Among the CvSU officials present were President Dr. Hernando D. Robles; Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro; Vice President for Administrative and Support Services Prof. John Xavier B. Nepomuceno; ILCLO Director Prof. Ma Veronica P. Pe帽aflorida; Public Affairs and Communications Office Director Prof. Adora Joy T. Plete; and members of the Administrative Council.

In her message, Ambassador Beaufils tackled how the UK and higher education institutions such as CvSU can strengthen people-to-people relationships through education, cultural exchange, research and development, gender empowerment, and other collaboration opportunities in areas like agriculture, food security, health, and environment.

These are among the programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing UK-Philippine partnerships on priority issues concerning trade and economic development, climate change, environment, maritime security, and research.

She also cited the 鈥渇undamental need to reinvest in basic education鈥� to enable the younger generation to 鈥渄evelop their talents and potentials, and contribute to the sustainable long-term development of the country.鈥�

Meanwhile, British Council Head of Education Pierre Pecson and Account Relationship Manager Abegail Boboyo gave an overview of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), and discussed how interested students can pursue their academic aspirations through the scholarship opportunities being offered by universities in the UK.聽

Some of the top scholarship offerings include Our Women in STEM Scholarships, and the Chevening Scholarship Programme.

The British Council is the UK’s international institution promoting cultural exchange and educational opportunities. The organization promotes peace and prosperity by fostering relationships, understanding, and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide.聽

Across the Philippines, the British Council has trained over 6,000 people in agriculture, construction, and information technology, and more than 1,500 Technical Vocational Education and Training educators, local industry associations, and cooperatives to increase access to skills development and improve job opportunities for Filipinos.聽

Visiting professors from UNWAHAS composed of Dr. Indah Hartati, Fandy Indra Pratama, Arief Hidayat, Farikha Maharani, and Khanifah Se shared their expertise on research and application of information technology (IT) for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and food industry.聽

This activity was conducted in collaboration with the International and Local Collaborations and Linkages Office; College of Engineering and Information Technology; College of Economics, Management and Development Studies; College of Education; and College of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Natural Resources.聽

The lecture series started with discussions on the current status of halal certification of SMEs in Central Java; the role of IT in SMEs鈥� performance in Indonesia; halal tourism in Indonesia; high quality assurance in the food industry; synergizing perspectives: role of chatbots in MSMEs for seamless customer service integration; and research methodology.

For day two, the lecture focused on research collaboration highlighting the identification of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) of SMEs of palm sugar and local food in Indang.聽

The activity capped off with a community visit focusing on the application of chatbot and implementation of HACCP for SMEs of palm sugar and local food producers in the municipality.聽

UNWAHAS lecturers also visited CvSU鈥檚 Agri-Eco Tourism Park; National Coffee Research, Development and Extension Center; Sugar Palm Research, Information, and Trade (SPRINT) Center; and the University Historical and Cultural Museum.聽

This year, CvSU and UNWAHAS entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on academic, research, and social service cooperation where they will undertake institutional exchange, joint research and social services activities, and exchange of academic materials and other scientific information, among other related activities.聽

Aiming to improve the health status of nearby communities of the university, the 每日大赛网址首页进入 (CvSU) – College of Medicine (COM) and the Local Government Unit of Indang inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on community health program, September 18.

The said partnership between CvSU-COM and LGU Indang Rural Health Unit seeks to formulate and implement community focused health care programs, services, processes and systems; research and development activities; and other educational exchanges of mutual interest beneficial to both institutions.聽

Also as part of the agreement, CvSU-COM and LGU Indang will collaborate with other stakeholders and beneficiaries during the planning and implementation of the projects. Present during the MOA signing are University President Dr. Hernando D. Robles, CvSU COM Dean Dr. Eleanor J. Galvez, Indang Municipal Mayor Perfecto V. The partnership seeks to effectively implement the MPTC Scholarship Program which aims to provide scholarship opportunities to economically challenged but deserving students enrolled in undergraduate degree programs. The said scholarship focuses on Accounting, Information and Technology, Engineering, and Education programs.聽
