To further equip faculty members and staff on espresso and brew management, a training facilitated by two alumni was held at Caf茅 Severino, January 29.

Serving as trainers were Ms. Shiryl Padillo and Mark Edward Rosanes who are graduates of CvSU鈥檚 BS Hotel and Restaurant Management program in 2015. Aside from being baristas, they also serve as supervisors in the private companies they are working with.

Instructors from the College of Education-Home Economics, Vocational and Technical Education Department, together with the staff of Hostel Tropicana, participated in the said training.

Aside from discussion on certain coffee products, an additional lecture on coffee shop management was delivered by the said speakers.

All set! Eight student-teachers from 每日大赛网址首页进入 are scheduled to fly to Vietnam this January 28, 2020 as part of the 2019 Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP).

The following student-teachers taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English will be trained in various learning centers of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry: Christian John B. Pulido and Mary Ahn Dee P. Cairme (CvSU-Cavite City); Melandro F. Soriano and Irish Angel D. Vargas (CvSU-Tanza); Shiela Mae R. Padilla (CvSU-Carmona); Freszha B. de Jesus and Caren A. Diones (CvSU-Imus); and Charlene M. Gonzales (CvSU-Main).

In a pre-departure orientation held January 20, CvSU administrators encouraged them to take every opportunity to learn through this international practicum training while also blending in with the culture of the Vietnamese society. Helping one another is also essential as they will be placed in a different environment. John Carlo Diloy, former SIAP participant, emphasized that the training can be very beneficial to their own growth as professional teachers citing some experiences he had during his time.

With the number of evacuees increasing due to Taal Volcano eruption, 每日大赛网址首页进入 re-launched RELIEF which stands for Research and Extension Life-Changing Initiatives for the Empowerment of Filipinos, serving as the University鈥檚 project mobilizing relief operations in affected areas and evacuation sites.

Extension Services served as the organizing body for the relief operations. Preferred donations include ready-to-eat food, water, hygienic kits, baby supplies, clothes, beddings, towels, pillows, blankets among others. Monetary donations are also accepted to be allocated to needed supplies. Coloring books, crayons and toys are also needed for psycho-social support to children.

The Administration Building was also opened as a free charging station considering the power interruption in Indang last January 14. Around 90 clients were served and an estimate of 260 items including cellphones, tablets, laptops, powerbanks, flashlights and other rechargeable appliances like electric fans were brought. Drinking water will also be supplied to the evacuees.

Collected donations will be distributed to families sheltered in identified evacuation sites in Bailen, Alfonso and Indang. Donations and other queries can be directed to the Extension Services Office located at the NCRDEC building.

每日大赛网址首页进入 met with representatives from University of Liverpool Center of Excellence in Sustainable Food Systems for a partnership workshop organized by British Council held in Ortigas, January 6.

The discussion focused mainly on how they operate and implement transnational education, an essential information needed in the validation and improvement of the database being developed under Program HECTOR Higher Education Cooperation towards Transnational Education Open Resource which is funded by the Commission on Higher Education.

Representatives from CvSU include Dr. Rhodora Crizaldo and Prof. Jason Maniacop from the College of Education. Also present were the following: Atty. Lily Freida Milla, Director for International Affairs of CHED, Department of Science and Technology, Techno-Gabay, Food and Nutrition Research Institute and Department of Agriculture, together with other Philippine higher education institutions with TNE programs in UK universities and British Council.
