GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE CALENDAR

The University has institutionalized the Grievance Committee as a key non-research ethics body in compliance with national regulations and internal governance policies. The Committee addresses general administrative complaints and employee concerns in accordance with Civil Service Commission (CSC) guidelines, ensuring fairness, accountability, and ethical conduct in resolving disputes.

The Committee convenes upon receipt of complaints and maintains a standing monthly schedule to meet as necessary. These meetings may address actual grievance or misconduct cases, or serve as venues policy review or preparing consolidated monitoring reports even during months when no cases are filed.

The Committee also agreed to invite Faculty B on June 25 to present his side of the matter.

25 Faculty B did not respond to the invitation sent via email. The Committee was also informed that he was on leave when the letter was delivered personally. Hence, he remained unresponsive to the invitation.

 

The Committee agreed to submit preliminary report to the Office of President.

July 14 The Committee convened to discuss the complaint of Faculty C against Faculty D and to plan the next course of action. On-going
17 The Committee conducted separate meetings with both parties to listen to and document their respective narratives.

 

After hearing the narratives of both parties, the Committee proceeded with an initial deliberation.

November November 7 The Committee convened to discuss the complaint of Faculty A forwarded by the Office of the President on November 4. During the meeting, the Committee resolved to request the mediation report from the concerned campus to gain a clearer understanding of Faculty A’s concerns. Additionally, the Committee scheduled a separate meeting with Faculty A and Faculty B for further clarification. On-going

They also met with Faculty A to hear her narrative.

November 13 The Committee met with the Mediation Committee from the concerned campus to clarify the issues presented by Faculty A.

November 19 The Committee convened to discuss the statements from the parties involved.

 

The Committee acknowledged that the action requested by Faculty A falls outside the scope of the Grievance Committee’s responsibilities. However, they will still make an effort to explore whether a compromise agreement can be reached.

November 20 The Committee set a meeting with Faculty A to inform her of the responses to the items listed in the Grievance Form.

November 25 The Committee to deliberate on the issues including the letter from Faculty A sent on November 21, 2024.

 

After thoroughly reviewing the accounts provided by all parties involved, the Committee has determined that the issue has already significantly impacted Faculty A’s relationship with the individuals concerned, and has also given rise to additional matters requiring resolution.

 

Moreover, Faculty A had already taken her complaint against Faculty B to court, which further complicates the possibility of a resolution through the Grievance Committee.
