This is how Dr. Judith Mary Ann Chan, Education Supervisor II of CHED IV-A, described teachers in the new normal as she delivered a message during the third of a seven-part webinar entitled 鈥淐hallenges of the New Normal: Cavite HEIs Face and Learn as One鈥� facilitated by the Special Committee on Flexible Learning Arrangement in Cavite Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
Dr. Hernando D. Robles, 每日大赛网址首页进入 President and Chair of the Special Committee, encouraged participants to collaborate and share best and innovative practices in dealing with the challenges the academe is facing.
The said webinar series runs every Friday from September 25 to November 6, 2020 and the third entitled 鈥淐reating and Maintaining Database, Blogs and Websites鈥� was conducted on October 9 and hosted by CvSU.
Mr. Mark Philip M. Sy, University MIS, and Mr. Russel L. Villacarlos, University Webmaster, served as resource persons for the said activity attended by 508 participants from various HEIs.
For his topic 鈥淚mportance of Databases in the New Normal鈥�, Mr. Sy discussed the importance of database to improve data management, to innovate business processes and to serve as inputs in better decision-making. He also gave emphasis to the goal of transforming the data into information, knowledge and insight until it becomes wisdom which when applied will produce better outputs. In addition, he oriented the participants with learning management systems like Moodle and Schoology and applications which can be used for teaching in the new normal. These include Discord, Google Meet, Zoom, Webex and MS Teams. Meanwhile, Mr. Villacarlos, in his topic 鈥淗omepage: A Web Development Primer鈥�, shared how blogs can be used to promote organizations. He also showed a demonstration on how to make a simple blogsite using wix.com.
